Subscription Policy

As you’re aware Northern Tempo Equestrian Centre is on a subscription service to charge for lessons, board, horse leasing and other costs associated with horse maintenance and care. This is a recurring membership that auto renews monthly. That means that the subscription has automatic recurring payments.

We have been using this method for a few months and encountered situations and challenges that require us to clarify our terms and conditions around these payments and packages:

·You are responsible for the full subscription fee in the monthly billing cycle in which you cancel. This applies to all payment options. In the case of board, boarding fees may be pro-rated.

·You are responsible for making sure that you’ve chosen the correct subscription package for your needs and that you have the correct number of lessons per month. For example, if you pay for four lessons and only book three within your monthly billing cycle, you will still pay for all four lessons.

·In the event of unplanned instructor absences, where we cannot provide you with a coach, you will be offered the appropriate number of make up lessons which must be completed within the calendar month. Unused lessons cannot be transferred from one billing cycle to the next.

·If you own or lease a horse and are unable to attend all of your lessons in your monthly subscription, the remaining sessions can be used for a 30 minute training ride by a Northern Tempo coach.

·Any planned instructor absences for holidays, shows, clinics, etc. will be shared with clients well in advance so that you are able to plan your lessons around them.

·Some months will have 5 lessons scheduled. In months where this occurs, your fifth lesson is free or can be used as make up lessons.

·In the event that your horse is injured, and this injury requires them to take 2 or more weeks off, you will only be required to pay half of your lesson costs. This can be determined by Inge and/or a veterinarian. You will still pay your full board amount or the amount agreed upon in your lease contract or boarding agreement. If your horse requires additional recovery time, board and lesson costs will be reassessed.

·In the event that you’re told by a doctor that you should not ride for a period of time, you will only be required to pay half of your lesson costs or a Northern Tempo coach can put training rides on your horse. You will still pay your full board amount or the amount of your lease agreement.

·Online horsemanship classes or video analysis may be offered to clients when the temperature is below -30. These will take the place of regular lessons.

The above may seem harsh but the fee you pay holds your place in our program so that when you’re ready to come back, we’re there to support you.

Please note:  All Northern Tempo coaches and lesson horses will have five weeks off a year.

·The purpose of this is to ensure a sustainable service to you and maintain a healthy and happy lesson horse string.

·You will receive advance notice of and may be offered alternative opportunities for lessons.

·We will always ensure the care of the horses boarded here. If you’re boarding or leasing you are welcome to ride and use our facility during these rest weeks!

In the event you want to cancel or change your subscription:

·You may cancel your subscription at any time.

·If you do not want to renew, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You are responsible for taking this action before your next renewal payment.

·We do not issue refunds for subscriptions not cancelled before the renewal date.

·Keep in mind that changes to lease and boarding agreements require 30 days notice.

·You are responsible for confirming that your membership has been canceled or altered successfully. Refunds will not be issued on continued payments which are a result of an incomplete cancellation. Any change to your subscription package will be applied when the subscription renews.

·You will not be able to alter your package halfway through a billing cycle.

To cancel or change your subscription, you can go to your email account and open your email confirming the payment of your subscription. At the top of this email, is a link which reads “cancel/change your subscription” click on this and it will take you through the necessary steps.

Any exceptional circumstances not covered in the terms above will need to be discussed and agreed upon with Inge and/or Caitlyn.
